Outbound Marketing - What is it?

Marketing is essential for every business in order to generate leads. Without leads, you would not have the opportunity to sell anything to anyone. No sales opportunities would result in no profits and the end of the business. Every business owner needs to understand that the most important reason they are in business is to make money. Everything else they do works around it, and this is why generating a steady source of leads is something every business owner should master.

One of the traditional methods of generating leads has been outbound marketing. As an average consumer, you have been surrounded by outbound marketing on a daily basis. When you see or hear a television or radio ad, see a print ad or billboard, you are experiencing outbound marketing.

It is based on the idea that businesses must reach out and grab potential customers, and interest them in products or services for a sale. Outbound marketing includes the telemarketing calls, and robo calls you receive, whether asking your directly for business or to participate in a survey.

The problem is that after a period of time, most people get desensitized to being bombarded by unsolicited offers. They no longer respond to these offers and begin to ignore them. In some cases, they actively resent the products or services that are chasing for their attention. Outbound marketing has become more intrusive in its tactics.
